The German parish Associação União de Caridade São Bonifácio exists in Rio de Janeiro since 1912. A supporter association is connected, maintaining a kindergarten and, since 2000, a music school. The offers are directed to the children from the Favela Santa Marta, district of Botafogo. At the moment about 120 kindergarden children take part in the courses of the music school (violin, guitar and cavaquinho), moreover it is planned to teach lessons in saxophone and transverse flute as well as the foundation of a youth- and an adult choir. The institution pursues no gainful purposes and primarily finances itself by donations of companies and private persons.
Training Period – Music School
We are looking for music teachers and music students who might be interested in welfare work with children and are able to give music lessons.
Training Period – Kindergarten
We are looking for educators, pedagogues and art students who might work in the kindergarten of the parish and would like to collaborate with creative ideas of handicraft, manual work, painting and generally artistic-original suggestions.
All trainees should have a good knowledge of Portuguese which can be acquired, however, also in an intensive language course on site in Rio de Janeiro. |
