Established in 2007 by Brazilians and Germans, the IDM Institut was born from the ideal of promoting the interaction between people of diverse cultures, contributing for the social development, the respect to the differences and the end of any type of preconception, thus favoring a connection between citizens of different parts of the world. Believing this ideal, professionals of diverse areas had joined in favor of this cause, making possible the realization of this dream. It is with enormous pleasure and pride that we present the, IDM INSTITUTE Institut für Multikulturelle Entwicklung!
    An Institute that has as its main goal to contribute for the intercultural development of people of all ages. Providing a complementation of teach-learning for college student, immersion in the language and the Brazilian culture, personal growth and of customs, in a true union of cultures, seeking through the result of this work, ways to contribute for the end of the cultural borders between Brazil and other countries, and to become a center of multicultural reference for Germany and other countries in Brazil.

Some say that interchange appeared in the postwar period, with young Americans going to the Europe to take care of wounded combatants, passing 2 or 3 months there, emerging in another culture, learning with the differences and, in this way, assuming that this type of integration would be perfect to seal the peace among peoples.
    We do not know to specify the degree of veracity of this history, but we share its intention and we seek to take its objectives ahead, to not only promote peace, but also, the exchange of knowledge and experiences between young professionals who look to enrich their résumés. All of this, through our own system of immersion in teaching, that transforms our city, known as wonderful and recognized as headquarters of one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. In a classroom where tourism, learning and entertainment live in perfect harmony. That's the reason there are also programs of cultural interchange and social-cultural tourism.
    The IDM Institut's internship was created for you. It was elaborated believing the fact that youth is an important key for businesses between the countries. This way appeared the idea to intermediate internships for young foreigners in Brazil. The program counts on a structure formed for you and will be responsible for your internship during the entire period that you will be in Brazil, giving you a personalized attendance. Helping you with the company in which you will work as a trainee, with the host-family, as well as, with the bureaucratic questions next to the Federal Police and with everything else that you may need, with all security and professionalism.
    Also, we have a translator (in the work meetings, if it's needed), and a taxi service that will assist you 24hs, with all security.

Some options of internship, in diverse professional areas in private companies or ONGs, and in several States of Brazil, are presented so that the candidate chooses the one that interests him the most, inside of his field of work or study, or in another area of preference where he can accumulate knowledge and diverse experiences. The internship contract is made by our team which will be responsible for the internship during the period where you will be working as a trainee and also, offering translators for the meetings, in case that is necessary, keeping direct contact with the responsible for your sector of work with biweekly reports of evaluation and exploitation. We also lead the trainee to his workstation during the first days or until he feels safe. The company who receives you will emit a certificate of professional internship in your idiom of origin, with the support of the Institute.
    Our programs are drawn in day-by-day, and evolve according with the necessity, without ever be driven apart of the intention to offer a safe experience, of easy access and unforgettable.

A family is evaluated and selected with all the affection and care to receive you. The rooms are individual, prepared to receive with comfort and privacy, with the option of one or two daily meals, everything intermediated by our team. It's the ideal complement for a bigger exploitation of the internship and integration with the local culture.

Thinking about you, IDM has developed the IDM's Portuguese Course. With its own methodology, dynamic lessons and a communicative approach, the course has an entire structure for teaching the Portuguese language. Elaborated by postgraduate teachers, it seeks to reduce the costs of the program, and also attend each time better the necessities of the trainees, giving the general public the chance to learn Portuguese in a fast and efficient way, with a quality teaching. Experienced teachers in the practice of education are part of the course. The rooms are ample and the localization is excellent. The methodology focuses the teaching of the foreign language in communication.
    The communicative approach aims at the development of the four skills: speaking, reading, writing and understanding, using songs, outdoors classes and extra activities.

The classes can be individual or in group, and it has four hours of daily lessons. Three hours of the lesson take place in the classroom and one hour is outside. In these outdoor lessons you will face everyday situations like going to a bookstore, talking to an attendant or walking in the Copacabana's sidewalk, observing, this way, the Brazilian habits. We also have a special Friday program: every Friday you will visit one of the sights of the Wonderful City, in company of our teachers.
